Social TransFormation – Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Master of Arts)
Theorienvielfalt statt geistiger Monokultur: Alte Institutionenökonomik, Evolutorische Ökonomik, Feministische Ökonomik, Glücksforschung, Marxistische Ökonomik, Ökologische Ökonomik, Postkeynesianismus und Postwachstumsökonomik. Methodenvielfalt statt angewandter Mathematik – wir behandeln alle sozialwissenschaftlichen Methoden kritisch-reflexiv und ordnen sie stets
geistesgeschichtlich ein (z.B. im Modul Introduction to Scientific Methods). Selbstreflexion statt unhinterfragter, normativer Annahmen – unser „bread & butter“ als Hochschule, in der philosophische und ethische Reflektion Teil aller Studiengänge ist. Integration pluraler Lehrbücher in das Studium – Siehe neues Modul „Pluralist Economics“ – siehe auch diverse Initiativen (z.B. decolonising the curriculum). Abkehr von Thomson Reuters Impact Factor als alleinigem Maßstab für gute Forschung – nicht relevant für uns. Wir haben 100% Besetzung der Lehrstühle mit heterodoxen ÖkonomInnen.

„In the Master in Social TransFormation: Politics, Philosophy and Economics you will learn about how society functions, and critically explore philosophical dimensions of existing political and economic systems. With this, you will be able to creatively re-imagine the world you want to help build. Each module is strategically designed to help you become increasingly knowledgeable and constructively critical of the economic and socio-political conditions and powers of existing societies. Moreover, you will get the tools you need to become an agent of transformation and change the world. Parallel to the key modules, you can choose between different specializations ranging from „globalization, governance and trade“ to „sustainability“. Given a focus on heterodox and pluralist approaches to economics, the MA is perfect for those eager to understand the economy from a variety of philosophical, social and cultural perspectives.“
